Meet Dr. Jackie Levin — board-certified, award-winning Dermatologist and Mohs Surgeon, bio-chemical engineer, and resident Boss Babe. For more than two decades, Dr. Levin has studied the ins and outs of skin health and worked to create technologies that make it easy for you to adopt better-for-you skin care routines.
Dr. Levin received her Bachelor’s in bio-chemical engineering from UCLA and spent years working in the skin care industry and developing products for big-name brands. A fascination with ingredients and their interaction with skin led Dr. Levin to pursue and earn her Doctorate in Dermatology. Dr. Levin holds two board-certifications in Dermatology and Mohs Micrographic Surgery and she practices medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology in Southern California.
Recognized by her patients as the unofficial "Product & Ingredient Guru", Dr. Levin’s passion for educating others about products and ingredients drove her to create SkinKnowing, a solution that provides personal ingredient and product advice just as if visiting her Dermatology Practice in California. Why I became a dermatologist and created SkinKnowing
At the age of 13 (and I’ll never forget this moment), I was introduced to a skin care line that actually improved the appearance of my skin. Seeing this welcome change did wonders for my self-confidence. From that moment on I knew that my passion for skin care would lead my way to finding my career.
My career path led me to not only work in skin care but pursue a doctorate in Dermatology. I wanted to understand the skin and ingredients in a way, only Dermatologist’s do.
What I’ve discovered throughout my career and in my practice is that people are confused when it comes to products and ingredients. I am constantly asked whether a product is ‘good’, or what ingredients should be ‘avoided’. This is why I created SkinKnowing! Finally, I have a place where my family (yes – that’s you mom!), friends, and patients can go and find products with ingredients that they can feel good about using.
I am proud to offer the first online solution that takes into account your genetics, allergies, goals, health and concerns delivers custom ingredient and product recommendations as well as a personalized ‘avoid’ list.
Creating SkinKnowing has been a labor of love. I have been working on this concept since 2014 when I first whispered the idea to my husband. It’s with great pride that I finally bring SkinKnowing to you. It is my intent to provide clarity, transparency, education, and a sense of reassurance when using SkinKnowing to find products for yourselves and your families.
